Smart City
Overview
Smart cities use data and technology to make better decisions to improve quality of life within the community. Scottsdale is looking for strategic advisory services to create a Smart City Strategic Roadmap. This will help Scottsdale focus on smart city solutions most likely to result in a more efficient, responsive and sustainable city that delivers better outcomes for Scottsdale residents and businesses. The Smart City Strategic Roadmap will cover domains including mobility, security, health, energy, water, waste, economic development, housing, and civic engagement. This project has been shared with the Scottsdale City Council at their March 14, 2019 retreat, and there was broad support for this initiative and for requesting funding from the Industrial Development Authority. This is also included in the Organization Strategic Plan as a City Council Priority. The plan was accepted at the April 15, 2019 City Council meeting. It is our hope that the completed roadmap will be helpful not only to the City for identifying priorities, but also to the Industrial Development Authority for evaluating future requests for bond funds for infrastructure to support public-private partnership smart city projects.
