The Canada Arizona Business Council, founded in 2004, is a private member-driven entity. The sole purpose of the CABC is to increase bilateral trade and investment (FDI) between Canada and Arizona and we do so by maintaining the highest connections across every major industry. We are a deal- and transaction-oriented council with one degree of separation between most major business decision makers in Canada and Arizona. Based in Arizona, we serve to support over 400 (and growing) Canadian companies in the state plus, the 150+ Arizona companies operating in Canada, by facilitating high-level business-to-business introductions that few can provide. The Council is sanctioned by both the State of Arizona and the Canadian Government and is the only organization sole mandate is to promote bilateral business between Canada and Arizona. We are neither an economic development agency, nor a lobbying group, we are a 501(c)6 nonprofit organization.
Our primary goals, over the next three years, are as follows:
Build Wings & Wheels Scottsdale into the premier Private Aviation event in the Americas
Increase tourism between Canada and Arizona
Increase trade between Canada and Arizona
Increase Foreign Direct Investment between Canada and Arizona
Increase nonstop direct flights between Canada and Arizona from 200+ to 250
Increase Canadian companies operating in Arizona from 400+ to 500
Increase Arizona companies operating in Canada from 150 to 200
Increase jobs in Arizona dependent on trade and investment with Canada from 146,800 to 200,000
2020 Grant application Summary
The funds that we are requesting will be used to continue and complete a three year analysis of the FAA private jet landings at Scottsdale Airport, and to incorporate this information into the registration database. As in 2018, Thunderbird MBA interns will create a profile of the ownership for each of the FAA jet landings at Scottsdale Airpark. The data will be completed for the balance of 2017 (those months that were not covered in the previous grant due to budgetary constraints), all of 2018 and 2019. Funds are needed beginning in June 2019. Wings & Wheels Scottsdale is poised to be the most unique and exclusive private jet sale and gala in the US market. The growth both in the number of jet owners at the event and reputation depends solely on expanding the mailing list of whole-asset jet owners. The 2018 grant project added 550+ names to the master list. We are seeking to reach the most coveted of demographics; Ultra High Net Worth individuals who are jet owners. Nearly 300 jet owners attended the 2019 event, an unprecedented number that has attracted the attention of marquess sponsors. 80 of those owners were new and unique and an in increase over the 2018 Wings & Wheels. Scottsdale is the beneficiary of the visibility of the attendees, all decision makers, coming in from Canada (45%) and the Western and Mid-Western US.
